Frozen Watermelon Margaritas

June 20, 2016

OK, this one definitely gets my mouth watering! It’s officially summer, and I created these Frozen Watermelon Margarita’s for Glitter Guide that I could sip all summer long!

Watermelon Margarita 4

Happy first day of summer!!! Watermelon is definitely one of my fave foods, and so come summer, I’m all over it! These are so fun and unique, thanks to the watermelon ice pop in top – you could even do a different flavour of ice pop, like lime maybe? I think that would be perfect. The good news is that these are so easy to make, and a tray full will make for a perfect summer entertaining staple. If you’re looking for the perfect champagne coupe’s, here is where I got mine!

Here’s how you make them:

Frozen Watermelon Margaritas

*Makes 4 servings

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups cubed seedless watermelon (easy hack: Grab the pre-cut version from places like Whole Foods)
  • 4 tablespoons fresh lime juice, plus slices for garnish
  • 6 ounces white tequila
  • 3 ounces triple sec
  • 1 cup ice
  • Coarse salt, for rimming
  • Store-bought watermelon ice pops

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place cubed watermelon in the freezer until almost frozen.
  2. Place all ingredients (except for ice pops and salt) into the blender and blend until icy smooth.
  3. Rim your glasses with salt by running a lime wedge over the rim, and dipping the rim into salt.
  4. Top the margaritas with your ice pop and a lime wedge.
  5. Serve and enjoy immediately!
