here we go, we’re fully on the wedding train now, and by “we” i mean this blog. i’ll be sharing details about our big day as we get closer and closer – we’re only 2 months away, i seriously cannot believe it.

i’m so excited to share our invites with you! i am in love with them. i had a totally different idea in my head about what our invites would look like (and have the pinterest secret pinboard to prove it), but when my finacé showed me some inspiration he was coveting, i fell in love with this sweet idea of a custom, hand painted invite that was so very personal. we worked with love by phoebe, and the process was a lot easier than i thought it would be. we sent her images of our apartment building, our pup, and ourselves, along with colour preferences, and she came back with this hand painted invite – the first draft was close to perfect. she the created a monogram, and chose the font – being so picky (full on font snob), i was surprised that she hit it right on with this calligraphy style. (because our guest list is only 70 people, i had to remove the address and location… if you showed up, we may not have enough wine to go around…)

phoebe worked so hard on designing our custom wedding invites, and once we were ready, she took care of getting them printed, and after i selected the final envelopes and we sent in the guestlist address file, she took care of the rest, including mailing them out and picking out the most beautiful floral stamp! it was hard to capture, but she even added gold edging to the sides of each invite.

we chose to forgo the full invite ‘suite’ – the rsvp return, direction card etc. as it’s just too fussy for us and opted for a simple email RSVP and of course, a hashtag!

we still have more work to do with phoebe – the place cards, programs, menus and signage for the wedding are what’s up next, and i feel so lucky to be in such great hands. can’t wait to share more soon! follow along on instagram with the #celebr8sousa hashtag.
