I never understand until I’m away, but little getaways are so important to my soul. Since I own a business, I’m always go go go. I oftentimes forget about myself, and my mental and emotional health takes a backseat to the needs of others. I was so excited to get away (I even left my laptop at home!) for a few days to Rowena’s Inn at Pretty Estates out in Harrison Mills, about 90 minutes out of Vancouver. It started with such a scenic drive, getting out of the city bustle is a perfect start to any vacay!

Rowena’s is a 1800’s manor run by the original owner of the home, Betty Ann. Her family occupied the manor, and she’s since converted it into the most charming inn, with several rooms, and the most gorgeous grounds full of family history. Sidenote: Um, how perfect would it be for a wedding?!

There are also four charming luxury cottages with wood burning fireplaces (I was useless with this, but hubs kept it roaring all night long!), soaker jacuzzi tubs, and complete seclusion. It was the most relaxing few days, and since there are no TV’s (and we were there on Oscar night!), we really sunk into the bed (scrolling on our phones to see what everyone was wearing!), did some reading, and plenty of eating in their gorgeous restaurant.

We are already planning our trip back, and plan to stay for at least 3 nights… it was just THAT good. It also taught me how just a little staycation can really give me the break I need to stay productive and focused.
