Our Bathroom Refresh Reveal

November 27, 2019

Along with our kitchen, we also recently completed a bathroom reno! It was actually maybe more like a refresh, but the space sure feels updated. This is our guest bathroom (aka Roberto’s!). The bathroom was something that bugged us since we moved in and we decided to commit to turning it into a space we loved… but not breaking the budget. With the help of Delta Faucets for our faucet and fixtures (all part of the Trinsic Collection), I created a design and then executed it! The results were pretty dramatic… keep reading for the before and after.

When choosing metals, I didn’t want to be too matchy, sticking with all one metal for the light, knobs and fixtures, so decided to go for black and gold – the vanity being white with a more shaker style helped it from looking overly-modern. As this isn’t our forever home, we opted to keep the floor as is. While I don’t love the darker tiles, I see those dark brown shades coming back in and it blends well with the update. In terms of scale, the mirror and light are a little bit on the larger side, but I much prefer that to going too small. But… let’s let the before and after speak for itself, shall we?!

I will tell you, designing a space alone, when you’re not a designer, can be overwhelming. This was a relatively small project (and seemingly simple!) but choosing combinations, sizes, styles… and then hoping they work together can be intimidating, so, if you feel it, I feel YOU! Little things like finding the perfect vanity that was the exact same size as our old one can take more time than we think. Sometime I wonder if it would be easier just to do a full gut, but then I remind myself that I defo wanted to keep the budget slim!

So, there you have it! Up next… our ensuite bathroom refresh reveal.
